Canary Islands will have their own "de-escalation" plan from confinement

The Canary and Balearic Islands are the territories with the fewest coronavirus infections. Some of them have no infections or deaths.

This event makes us think about the next step: the de-escalation of confinement. It is being proposed to turn the Canary archipelago into a sort of pilot test to study how these new measures would affect its territories. In the case of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, president of the islands, believes that it would be most appropriate to lift the confinement for three of the least affected islands: La Graciosa with no cases, La Gomera with nine cases, and El Hierro with four.

The start of de-escalation in the Canary Islands, according to the government's plans, could begin to be implemented in the middle of next week. Minors, with permission to go for a walk accompanied by an adult, and those wishing to do outdoor sports, will be the first to be able to start walking the streets normally again. However, they will always have to wear protective masks.
